Spring Membership/Education Meeting
April 23– 24, 2010 - Shilo Inn / Richland, WA - Registration Form
Tri-Cities
--- A Perfect Blend
On behalf of the Tri-Cities, we are pleased to welcome members of the Towing & Recovery
Association of Washington to the Tri-Cities in April for the 2010 Spring Meeting. If
you haven’t visited the Tri-Cities recently, you will be pleasantly
surprised by the many changes and additions that are taking place in our growing community! New restaurants, new wineries, and new shopping
opportunities are just a few of the “new” things you’ll experience.
Known for the three “W’s” - Water, Weather, Wine - there is something to offer every meeting attendee in the Tri-Cities.
Water – Located at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers, our community
is built around the water, offering jet boat tours of the Hanford Reach National
Monument; kayak tours; jet ski and jet boat rentals; wildlife watching and over 67 miles of riverside paved trails. The Shilo Inn Suites Hotel, where you’ll be meeting, is one of five hotels located on the Columbia
River offering spectacular views, a peaceful atmosphere, and convenient access to waterfront trails.
Weather – As a desert region, the Tri-Cities area enjoys a mild climate with 300 days
of sunshine each year. The area’s great weather allows for year-round golf at one of ten golf courses. The Columbia Point Golf Course, located adjacent to the Shilo Inn Suites Hotel and a James J. Engh design,
boasts a variety of tee boxes and measures 6,571 yards from the championship tees. In
addition to golf, there are a number of events being held the weekend of April 23-25; visit www.visittri-cities.com/visitors/events for information.
Wine – With over 160 wineries within a one hour’s drive of the Tri-Cities, the
Tri-Cities is the perfect hub for touring and tasting. After savoring just one
of our local premium wines, visitors understand why the area has been rightfully called the Heart of Washington’s Wine
Country. Spring Barrel Tasting, held April 23-25, will allow you to sample yet-unfinished
wines from the barrel. Barrel tasting allows tasters a sneak preview of upcoming vintages from their favorite wineries.
This special weekend features winemakers and cellar staff who are on hand to share insights and answer questions on the winemaking
process. For additional event details, visit www.wineyakimavalley.org .
In addition, the history lover has the opportunity
to experience the area’s culture and background with a visit the Columbia River Exhibition of History, Science and Technology
(CRESHT) Museum. Tours of the B-Reactor, recently named a National Historic Landmark
and part of World War II’s Manhattan Project, are also available. From
the history of Hanford to the Lewis & Clark Expedition and the Native American way of life to technology; there is much
to be discovered.
We look forward to sharing our community with
you in April! For a complimentary Tri-Cities Visitor Guide or additional visitor
information, please visit our website, www.VisitTri-Cities.com or contact us at 800-254-5824.
