Retrospective Rating Program. We have been part of the Retro Program
with the State of Washington for over 15 years.
We have partnered with Integrated Claims Management who provide administrator services for our program. Our program has been successful and while most Retro programs have a goal of a 15% return, we have been
able to surpass this number.
A quick math example. If you had 5 drivers and 1 office person, depending on your experience rating you
might be paying as follows:
5 drivers, 2080
hours per year at $1.75 per hour = $18,200
1 office, 2080 hours
per year at 0.12 per hour = $250
Total
$18,450.
If you were able
to realize a return of 15%, that would put $2767.50 back in YOUR pocket each year!
Fuel Discount Program. We have been working with Petro Card Services
for over a year. As tow operators we all know the significant cost of fuel and
the impact that has on our bottom line.
A quick math example. If you operated 5 trucks that each traveled 100 miles per day and your trucks got
an average of 8 miles per gallon….
5 trucks times 100
miles per day = 500 miles per day at 8 mpg would mean you burn about 62.5 gallons per day.
Based upon 272 workdays in a year, you would be using 17,000 gallons of fuel.
If you could save an average of 5 cents per gallon, that would mean savings of $850 per year. Petro card also offers an additional quick pay discount on their invoices.
Towpartners. As a member of the Towing and Recovery Association you
are automatically a member of the Towpartners network. There is no membership
fee charged to our membership. The Towpartners organization offers discounts
on products such as Sprint/Nextel, Aramark uniforms, truck insurance, medical benefits, mobile credit card solutions, computers,
the TOPS computer dispatch system, just to name a few. These discounts can run
between 10% to 50% of retail pricing.
Legislation. As a member of the TRAW you will be part of an Association
that has a lobbyist in Olympia watching over the needs of our industry. Stuart
Halsen has been a member of the Legislature and knows the “system.” Recent
“wins” we have accomplished are the changes to the Streamline Tax bill that would have put a huge burden on all
towers accounting systems. Another is the change in the advertising requirements
for auctions. This bill alone has saved towers thousands of dollars per year!
TowPac. Because we believe that the best way to effect change is
to participate in the process; we have created a Political Action Committee. Though
donations made by our members our TowPac committee makes donations to both incumbents and newly running candidates for various
offices in the State. Because of donation laws we can contribute amounts equal
to Boeing and Microsoft. Our voices are heard!
And, the most important reason, together our voices can and will
be heard. Our industry is one of the most heavily regulated in the State and
we need to work together to promote the professionalism of our industry, to continue to train our employees, to negotiate
fairly and competitively with our municipalities and State agencies.
Our voices: Loud and Strong when we stand
together.
